Importance of Repetition

The exhibition “Importance of Repetition” brings together five artists working from varied

standpoints in localities and history with the fragility of memory. Through photography, film,

sculpture, drawings, and archival materials, the project focuses on displaced personal and

collective stories and explores their linkage to each other. Echo of shared loss, overlap of life

trajectories, and sudden recognition of communality in daily rituals sprout new kinships. In

the presented works, repetition, recollection, and forgetting of the past create a space to

witness the loss and observe its effects through the moving time.
