—-(DE) Im Jahr 2013 hatte ich beim Kanufahren auf der Insel Tioman einen Unfall, bei dem mein Gesäß- muskel von der Schiffsschraube eines Bootes abgeschnitten wurde. Ich habe fast 15 Operationen hinter mir, darunter Muskeltransplantationen, Hauttransplantationen und Blutgefäßtransplantationen. Diese Narben sind der empfindlichste Teil meines Körpers geworden. Wenn ich mich vor anderen Menschen nackt ausziehe, kommt noch eine weitere Ebene hinzu. Diese Erfahrung hat nicht nur mein Verhältnis zu meinem Körper verändert, sondern auch die Art und Weise, wie mein Körper wahrgenommen und be- trachtet wird – als vernarbter Körper, als asiatischer Körper, als schwuler Körper.

Dear Raymond + Dear Butt ist eine Performance über meine Reise als Überlebender, zusammen mit mei ner Polaroid-Sammlung von nackten Hintern-Bildern von verschiedenen Menschen, Freunden, Liebhabern, Fremden und Zuschauern.

—-(EN) In 2013, I had an accident at Tioman Island while I was canoeing and my butt muscle was cut off by the propeller of a speedboat. I have done almost 15 operations that include muscle transplant, skin trans- plant and blood vessel transplant. Those scars have become the most sensitive part of my body. Becoming naked in front of other people now always carries another layer too. The experience not only changed my relationship to my body but also how my body is perceived and looked upon – as a scarred body, as an asian body, as a gay body.

Dear Raymond + Dear Butt is a performance about my survivor journey, along with my polaroid collection of naked butt pictures from different people, friend, lover, stranger and audience.
